I put my paw in the gator’s mouth!
Well………. not really………..
This is my first alligator. I didn’t know what animal it was when I saw the photograph on the wall at the gallery. I just saw his happy smile and wanted to make friends with him.
I’m a beary curious bear.
Well, really… what it is … is….. is that I get bored when the humans start gibber gabbering at each other.
I need action!
Action with a capital ‘A’.
So while the humans were trying to decide if this was an alligator or a crocodile, I just went up and said…….
The gator didn’t say much.
…Hummm…??? Now that I think of it… he didn’t get to say anything at all before I was quickly taken away from him. (I learned later that pictures on the wall don’t normally talk like they can at Disney.)
Anyways, when I got home, I googled alligators and crocodiles. (Googling is the easiest way to teach humans what they don’t know) …….and found this neat link. Alligator vs Crocodile.
I learned that gators can hold their breath for up to an hour under water! …and they like to swallow their food whole even though they have all those sharp teeth.
If I went underwater I would drown because I’m filled with stuffing.
Some humans say that if you see a gator, you should run in a zig-zag. … or was that zag-zig? Nope, it was zig-zag. Either way, zig-zag or zag-zig – Don’t do it!
That’s like NOT right at all!
The gator will catch you and swallow you whole! That’s because the gator’s eyes are on the side of his head. So he’ll see your zigging and zagging…… …or, …….. zagging and zigging…. You got to run straight a head and as fast as you can! And that’s the story of my very beary first ever Gator Encounter!
